Great Depression Cooking Episode:1 – Pasta with Peas

91 year old cook and great grandmother, Clara, recounts her childhood during the Great Depression as she prepares meals from the era. Learn how to make simple yet delicious dishes while listening to stories from the Depression.  These recipes and tips are just as relevant today, as we deal with layoffs, slow economy, and higher food prices.  Look for more videos by Clara to follow.  This dish is also vegetarian!

Ingredients needed:

1 potato
1 small onion
1 can of peas
olive oil
enough water to cook the pasta
salt and pepper
pasta
tomato sauce (optional)
grated cheese (optional)
