Child’s Play — Cooking Alinea
By Leighann on Feb 8, 2009 in What's Cooking?
Theo, 5, and James, 9, cook a recipe from the Alinea cookbook. The recipe is pheasants with shallots, cider gel, birch, and oak leaves. The Alinea cookbook is a molecular gastronomy book. Molecular Gastronomy combines high tech science and cooking, made famous by chefs like Grant Achatz. It seems a bit ambitious, but they’re cute, and the recipe seems to turn out.
Dad: “We’re gonna roll this to get all the air out”
James: “Can’t we just take it into space and open it up?”
hahahaha this kid reminds me of me

I know he’s only 5 and a half, but I think giving that kid an actual knife (Even just a paring knife) would be better than letting him go at stuff with that plastic. He’ll be fine, the Dad knows what he’s doing.
