How can you make planting pots to start seeds in?  Easy!  Cheap!  Or even free!

Newpaper pots are a great tool for your garden: It doesn’t cost you anything extra (you can get those free advertiser papers if you don’t already subscribe to the paper, or as he says in the end, ask your neighbors for theirs!), it’s “green”, it’s good for the plants, it’s easy to do.  No ripping out the roots, no plastic that breaks down and brings an extra cost every year.  And no taking peat away that can be used for other things.  What else could you ask for?  Dave shows how to make them easily.

  7. Cool! Are you sure that paper will break down enough to allow roots to spread? Anyway, I like the idea better than peat pots. I really like the bottom wicking water method. Looks very easy! Thanks!

  8. I am guessing that the thickness of the newspaper will determine how fast they will break down and fall apart? Make them thin, or thick depending on what your need is. There is no doubt that he has got it figured out and what I see is a great video. Thanks Kevin
