Sorry for such a long delay in replying to this. I have neglected my blog and haven’t messed with it in a long time.

Good news. *POOP* is the original fertilizer! lol. It’s a wonderful way to enrich your soil and if you have livestock doesn’t cost a thing. When we lived in Germany we noticed that farmers routinely sprayed their crops with liquified manure… contributing to a phenomenon we called “Frischer Land Luft”. Fresh country air. Haha, there’s nothing like it. A couple things to think about… some natural fertilizer, like chicken manure, can be really strong. It can actually be harmful to your plants if used raw (i.e. not dried or composted). The best way to use poop, which will also cut down on odor and help with disease control, is to compost it. You should thoroughly wash any plants from a manured garden and people with a compromised immune system (i.e. the elderly, very young, or people with immune difficiency diseases like AIDS or hepatitis) should probably cook their veggies or fruits if they’ve been manured. Always wear gloves when handling poop and wash your hands!

Will it be safe to eat the stuff we are going to grow? It seems weird to me. We are doing a veggie/fruit garden over my mom’s house and she wants to put “organic fertilizer” (POOP!) in the dirt. What is the proper way to do this? This is the first time I’ve grown anything so any tips would be helpful! Thanks!

I did not have hot peppers, but I have tried making home bugs spray for my veggies before. This time I do a small (magic bullet sized batch) using a good large tsp of chopped garlic, 2 bags of peppermint tea, A couple shakes of ground ginger, and a finger sized sprig of rosemary. I shaved a little soap, (not ivory,close) then strained through a cloth. Put in 24oz regular hand sprayer and filled the rest with water. I hope it works! shaked up and sprayed. I will follow up if it works.

I only put what I showed in the video. There was a whole bar of ivory cut up in that jar, don’t need that much for only 2.5 gals. of water……. Donald
